FUE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

FUT BEFORE FUE:

Hair transplantation is getting a big issue nowadays .More advanced techniques are being developed to overcome this issue. The people, few years before, were using a technique called FUT (follicular Unit Transplantation).This technique uses a strip harvesting method in which donor hair are extracted by using a single strip from the back and sides of the scalp. The donor strip is removed by the surgeon and separated into 1,2, 3 and 4 follicular grafts hairs. These grafts are then placed in the balding areas.

ADVANTAGES OF FUT:

§  Max no. of grafts can be harvested in a single session/surgery.

§  The strip procedure allows the surgeon to harvest and process the grafts under microscope thus reducing transactions (damaging hair follicles).

§  Hair transplant cost in Lahore  is more affordable which approximately ranges between 40 to 100 Rupee per graft

DISADVANTAGES OF FUT:

§  Long recovery period of the scar caused by the extraction of the hair by the strip.

§  If the skin is tight its much harder to extract hair from the strip.

§  The affected area is closed by the help of stitches and it is necessary for the patient to take rest for few weeks.

ADVANCED FUT-FUE:

The new technology introduced  nowadays is FUE (follicular unit extraction) which is more advanced and mostly have advanced features than FUT. There are two ways to remove the grafts i.e two step procedure and three step procedure.

In FUE harvesting, individual follicular units are extracted directly from the patient's donor area, usually one at a time. This is different from strip-harvesting because in strip harvesting, a strip of skin is removed from the patient and then inserted into many individual follicular units. Nowadays FUE is getting more advance called Advanced FUE. The main difference is that in Advanced FUE the donor area can be: chest, legs, arms, abdomen, back, face, and beard.

MEASURES BEFORE CONDUCTING FUE:

§  Surgeon should be trained and experienced.

§  Good lightning and magnification is required for surgeon and staffs.

§  Surgeon should have right knowledge of hair planting ,for example the angle of the new hair should be more acute than follicle.

§  To prevent scarring punch size should be between 0.6 to 1.0mm.

§  The movement of hand should be more proper ,if the surgeon is right handed a clock wise rotation is recommended.

§  When conducting two step approach surgeon use sharp punch, while blunt punches are used in 3 step procedure.

ADVANCE TECHNIQUES IN FUE:

FOLLICULAR ISOLATION TECHNIQUE:

To limit the depth of penetration punch stop is used. in extraction technique depth stop is more necessary and ofcourse it is the main issue. Instead of undemanding follicular units if our goal is only the hair extraction than FIT is more preferable.

AUTOMATED FUE:

It is better than FUE in the sense that the extraction rate is more fast in a limited time. However there is more chance of damaging graft, by pulling and twisting it.

Robot is a man made device which is introduced to make life more easier and safe. They have high accuracy and repeat ability , it is an automatic device which can perform work faster and efficiently. Hence they are used to perform various tasks in FUE hair transplantationin Lahore as well as abroad.

ADVANTAGES OF FUE:

§  The steps for FUE are less distressing.

§  It does not need more staff for surgery.

§  Recovery time is less.

§  We can use hair for transplantation from anywhere of the body.

§  No need of removing stitch after surgery.
